I got an email saying I can check in to my flight

it says it's "on time"

but it is under weather advisory and IMPLIES that both hsv and clt won't send flights until friday

so I tried to call to see if they could give me more information

AND NOBODY WILL ANSWER

they're like welp people keep calling TRY AGAIN LATER I GUES.

if I check in and get there tomorrow morning to find that my flight(s) have been canceled I will pop a zit

I guess worst case is I come in friday morning sometime

so I'd basically miss all day friday

just to be at the con for like 36 hours before having to come fucking back

clt is experiencing major delays and cancellations hahahahaha I am so fucked

all fights from HSV to CLT were cancelled today HAHAHAHA

if CLT is closed you can assume your flight is cancelled

I would be trying to chance the flight you're on asap

they won't actually announce a canceled flight until it's like much closer to the time it flies but if the airport is shut down you can make that assumption yourself and argue that if need be

get them to redirect you if need be since your final destination is fine

at least you've got that going for you cause Reagan is shut down till friday officially

well right now it looks like clt isn't shut down completely like flights seem to be departing but there is a high rate of cancellation

my issue is I don't know where I could change my flight to or when because nobody is answering the phone. I can get my flight changed to a different airport that looks fine but it would be 650$ haha

so nope

my other option is to get a flight at like 6am friday morning but I still have no way of knowing if clt will be cancelling or delaying stuff then either

in other words it would be much easier if someone would pick up the damn phone to at least give me an idea of what I should do from the airline's pov rather than me just literally going DUMMM I DUNNO :Ba

speaking from experience the airlines won't have much to tell you

honestly

and most of those fees can be waived if you make yourself annoying and insistent enough

the airlines tend to sit on their hands an wait till the last possible moment to do anything decisive rather than risk wasting seats

this is made more difficult by the fact that they're probably dealing with thousands of people that have been displaced already

one way or another though I hope you can get through to someone that can help

they said they are waiving transfer fees but I don't have any flight to transfer to unless I take the 6am friday one but even with that I would only get to the con for part of friday and then saturday

sigh

right now I plan to get to the airport and just deal with it when I get there. it will be easier to make a decision tomorrow when the weather becomes more apparent

alright jsyk if it looks dire you may be better off taking the friday one too only because at least you'll be guaraneteed a flight that way. It's way better to have a seat than be on standby
