We haven't heard from Rajak since then.

I'm scared the series is gonna pull a on me and make Rajak a worker of Cromwell's even if nothing else in canon points to that yet.

Since Cromwell has an assassin squad whose identities are entirely unknown to the Union.

But that's still the only connection possibly to make right now.

That said, my "don't let this ever be a thing" answer to M-21 was really getting M-24 back because it'd just make things awkward and kill the emotional weight of everything that's happened in the past.

That could be it? From what I can tell, no one mentions anything at all about their past lives. Takeo thinks he had a sister because Aris appeared to him as one only after he started working for the Union.

I'm not sure if future experiments still have the same problem of not retaining memories.

It's already fuzzy but it could be that Crombell didn't know as much about Lukedonia since the other elders wouldn't tell him. So perhaps not a detailed account of the clan leaders?

If Rajak knew this it could be that he operates under the guise of Crombell's assassin team but also looks in on behalf of Lukedonia.

It would fit the Kertia clan's typical traits of stealth and assassination. But. Again that is less certain.

Especially since the assassination team is typically much weaker if Yuri's hesitance to fight Karias is any indication.

Either way I'm curious and still haven't reviewed the last arc for Crombell actually communicating with the eyes on the ground that he had on the 4th's island.

It's possible there was dialogue during Rajak's fight and I'm just being silly.

Interesting thought! Considering it was stated before that nobles sometimes sneak their lot in to observe humans more close-up, it's possible. It'd add more of an assassin-esque feel to Rajak,

who, aside from his specialty in battle, doesn't really act like the typical assassin.

At the very least it'd make more sense than him suddenly actually working for Crombell. It'd be a sudden change in his entire perceived loyalty and honor.

What's hilarious is how the canon makes it look like M-21 (and M-24) started everything and that he's the reason it's all downhill, but you look back and you realize no it is Franky.
