And despite a stark increase in comment-spammers. I still have around a quarter billion spam comments to clean up, but I'm working on that.

Those factors have, however, necessitated some compromises.

Thanks. Just getting the site back up after it got so badly hammered (and is still being badly hammered) has been incredibly time-consuming.

Comments are off - and probably going to have to stay that way. The quantity of spam comments was freaking ridiculous (millions per day)

Welcome back, Tateru. It's unfortunate that you have had to close comments. Aren't there any antispam filters that can help you?

I'm using them - in essence that's a part of the problem. Processing was impacting the server badly.
