doing what? i have no idea. i just got an email from an old instructor that said "have job 4 u will talk monday"
... pffft. man. That's pretty vague. What instructor is this, at least?
Maybe that'll give you some hints.
haha, she taught my medical research class, and she owns a contract research company that does work with one of the hospitals downtown
she'd mentioned to me before that there would be new studies starting up in the spring, and that she also needed a textbook writer
but i have no idea if it's writing, or regulatory compliance, or patient screening, or database programming... it could literally be anything
and that's if there's actually a job and she's not trying to get my to move to florida again
so i'm not going to get toooooooo worked up over it
Hmmmm. Right, that's a big condition... moving to another state for something. but if it's any of the above, then it sounds like they're all work you can do from home.
Which would be an absolute delight.
Depending on everything else.
Ooh. I hope you get some good news!
yes! and if it's not doable from home, the hospital is only like 20 min away. i really can't move, especially to florida.
(the company is based in florida, but they do stuff nationwide, and in japan and the czech republic... which happen to be the two foreign languages that i'm not complete shit at)
I think if she wants to move you to Florida, it's still worth asking about whether you can be of service closer to home.
yeah, there's just no way i can move. i live with my father and he's semi-disabled.
haha, i don't think i'd be able to handle the florida climate! or the hurricanes...
but i'm really hoping that this turns out to be something
the owner of the company seems nice. and i fixed her computer last year, so she remembered who i was.
haha, baltimore summers are muggy and disgusting and moist enough. i don't think i'd enjoy living any farther south than that. if i were to consider moving... it would be north, to canada.
yes, i will! gaaaaaaah i hope she has good news for me
i just want a real proper grown-up job hahaha
and if they pay for more education...
I'm still unemployed and likely to be so for at least another year or two, so you have a shot!! The rules of the universe are in your favor!
yes! only one of us can be employed at a time!
>> so stay in school for a niiiiiiiiice long time
Depending on how much of a headache it is to schedule classes, that might not be a problem...
uggghhh yeah i don't miss class selection time
And it's even worse for grad classes because class size is tiny, there's usually only one section, and some REQUIRED classes are only offered in certain semesters of odd or even years.
There are TWO that are only offered in the winter and summer.
arggghhhh yeah umbc did that allllll the time. they had to let me just graduate without a required course because they'd only run it once in the time i was there
