who ultimately has no idea where he's going in life

who wants so much to be the guy who can fix things and make things right, but at the same time knows he can never live up to that

because he Doesn't Have What It Takes

all these people are turning to him as the leader, for him to tell them what to do, and he has to make these decisions and calls that are bigger than anything in the OR

he completely breaks down.... and then there's a transformation

between the man of reason to the man of faith that john locke once was
