this actually really upsets me because I happen to like eating but I just ate before I came in
We sell trash but I would still have some one day if that wasn't the case but lunch breaks this early are seriously useless and boring
I'm just bored and angry and cold a and I'm going to be hungry all day and it's raining so I decided to cry about it you're welcome
chin up darling, you're still my sunshine.
I'm... pretty sure that's not okay.
idk for sure in your state, but I think most of them, if they give you any block of hours over 6, you have to have a 30 minute break, meaning you'd have to have one in the second half of that shift.
(managers where I work occasionally schedule lunches too early or too late, but reschedule them when asked because of that.)
it's a 30 minute break. They just give it early because they're cruel
It's legal for them to just give me a 10 later apparently
It's legal for them to just give me a 10 later apparently
I'm also just cranky because the people I'm working with today treat me like an idiot. To the point where
I've been changing out sanitizer here at this location since July and they still need to talk down to me with explicit (and conflicting)
instructions on how to do it and I was just rolling my eyes to myself silently until yesterday when one person was actually treating me
like a human being and now I'm unhappy about that
I still think that might not be okay, you may want to check into that.
Like. When I volunteered for some 10-hour shifts last christmas, because of the way my breaks were scheduled, I was eligible for a second 30-minute lunch break.
Because they scheduled my lunch halfway through my normal shift, so I'd have 6-6.5 hours after it without a break, and they were required to offer me a second one.
I don't want less hours either but I'll try to find a state website or something one day I guess. Thanks for the advice.
Yeah, I'd check on everything, including what sort of penalties there might be if they do retaliatory scheduling and cut your hours if you ask for a fair break.
(Because retaliatory scheduling is also not okay.)
I already get 5.75 hours most days so they don't have to give me a break tbh. Corporations are clever
So hungry right now and I have 3 hours left sob
I swear I'll be done whining soon
An hour and a half after I start is also bullshit, please take note of this managers. No love.
