Everyone says I am a kind, sweet and caring and warm person or even that I am too nice. Given that preface, I am not a dog person, am more of a cat person. I cannot handle them jumping up and slobbering and
even when I had pet ferrets that I loved dearly I would be very conscientious about them getting on the bed, or licking my face/hands (and would usually run and wash my face/hands after) which may be admittedly
a little OCD. Anyhow, so the guy I'm seeing has two cavalier dogs that he raised himself and is very close with. He lets them sleep on the bed, he lets them slobber ALL over his face and then wants to kiss me
which is real difficult for me to handle... Am I being too touchy about this? I hinted that they need a bath and I was uncomfortable with them being on the bed, and he got a little defensive... ugg ultimately
We are rapidly becoming crazy about each other, he is crazy about his dogs and it shows me he has a good heart... but... yeah, I'm just "Ewww" about them constantly lol
I'm similarly ooked out by the dog slobber thing. I think for it to really go long-term you'll have to let him know but be really careful it doesn't come across as not liking his dogs.
I love dogs, but I would have no problems with being asked to keep one off the bed. Just try to go about it in a way that doesn't suggest his dogs are gross
this has escalated horribly and quickly. rereading here for moral support. spent the night at his house. the dogs were to spend the night on the floor.
