I have a really hard time talking on Plurk and am not comfortable expressing my feelings here. However, I am so distraught about Ferguson. It is baffling how America can continue to perpetrate such injustice.

Things like Sl seem even more insignificant than ever.

you'll have to forgive - i think so many things today and just cleaned a bathroom with bleach and no ventilation. AND sometimes my instincts are faster than my brain can flesh out what i mean...

but i disagree that things like SL are insignificant. SL is a platform wherein we have the ability to reach people, persons - we have the ability to make ripples in the pond.

talking out how you feel is absolutely not insignificant. i often stop myself from doing and saying because of a shitty little goddamn southern voice (named something, i'm not being anti southern, she

happened to be from the south so the goddamn voice is a twang) in the back of my head says no, stop... you don't matter and no one cares what you think.

because EVEN if you disagree with me - we are HAVING the conversation, giving it life - it will affect us both and from there it ripples out and it might not be visible or obvious but goddammit that can do

I don't know about forgiveness in this matter even though I know that in the end it is the only way to move on. I think there are times that anger is justified. I don't condone violence or see it as a solution

I see it as a symptom. Just like depression can be seen as anger turned inward.

awww, yeah Apatia. Perfect. That's exactly why SL matters. It brings people together in a way they would never be together in a non-virtual world. It allows a level of honest discourse that we all need

with people we might otherwise not

it is absolutely a symptom of systemic problems that go far beyond this immediate situation.

it is the institutional disenfranchisement of one people by another people, which does not only happen here.

I think it's good to be able to talk about issues that bother you and that is never trivial. One thing that the internet does give us is a way to communicate and make friends with the world

Maybe one day that will help the violence stop everywhere
