what I am supposed to do is take 3 packets of them and then have a period, so like. 9ish weeks?

I never last beyond the second pack, but I had accepted that. but I had 2 periods in january and I am likely about to have one now

I mean the BC does make the periods more bearable; less horrendously heavy, less painful

No, the amount of progesterone or whatever type yours is in each pill will change

The doctor had a big chart showing how to adjust either way depending on your cycle
