I saw it tonight with my best friend. We cheered. We cried. Lots of people got punched and things exploded. Highly recommended.
It's from The Verge but I'm linking to the AV Club version because it's the only site where I can stand the comment section.
And the comment section is worth checking out for the magic of people seeing Han's name written down for the first time and realizing it's a pun.
I hope these films go on forever, absorbing other action franchises and stars as it goes, like a Katamari made of car chases.
Or a version of The Expendables that isn't boring.
I really need to watch some of these movies. I recently saw… oh what, like the last 20 minutes of one of them, catching it randomly on TV, and it was so dumb it made me want to watch them all
They're a lot of fun. I would caution that they're a weird mix of tones for the first 4, they really become an over the top action franchise with Fast Five onwards.
should I start with Fast Five, do you think?
it seems like the kind of series I wouldn't need to watch in order
The first one has back story that comes up a lot later, but after that you can skip to five.
If you do want to watch them in actual order it should be noted that the third one, Tokyo Drift, actually takes place between 6 and 7.
okay, that is how I will do it! Watch 1, then go to 5, 6, and 7… and after that fill in with any previous ones I feel inspired to check out XD
I hope you enjoy them! They are definitely my favorite action films that can be recommended in polite company.
(As opposed to say, Crank 2)
