tried that one, set it way high. no change. luckily my non-mesh lashes fit this head pretty well...but if there is a solution id love to find it.
i mean...people design them, so i have to assume some people see them right...but I never have.
I don't have issues with my lashes normally. I run on medium graphics with rendervolumnlodfactor on 4. When I lower the latter is when I sometimes start to see difference.
Might depend on the creator too. I use lashes from Gaeline Creations, and now I wouldn't want another brand.
oh i turned the rendervol up to like 12 lol still no. and im talking about the lashes on the LeLutka head so, im pretty confident that they are made as well as can possibly be made.
rendervol does not go higher than 4, so anything above that has no effect
in the debug menu it goes up much higher. when i read what you just wrote i wondered if maybe that number didn't do anything past 4 but..it does.
yeah you can put it higher than 4, but anything > 4 will still be treated as 4, as the setting itself does not go higher
that's also why in the preference panel (at least in FS) there is a matching slider that does not go beyond 4 either
I just tested it by zooming out on something with settings at 3, 4 and 12, and yes, my mesh retained it's shape better at 12 than at 4.
there are lots of things in the debug menu that can go to more extreme settings than are available in the general interface.
for example..in preferences and the FS quick preferences..the draw distance slider doesn't go lower than 32...but i can still get it lower than that using the debug menu or a chat command.
I know this, there was a time where this setting was not in preferences. I still use debug menu to set this setting.
ok well...i just tested what you said does not work..and it does so...i don't know what else to say about it.
For almost eight years it's been my knowledge that this setting does not go beyond 4. So unless someone shows me documentation that this is changed, I'm sticking to it
lol i just tested it, i have to reason to make this shit up
I'll try it myself then when I get back online. You got me curious now.
and I've got 8 years in SL too so, lets not make this a pissing contest.
It's not a pissing contest. Just me illustrating why I am not stepping off my opinion like that.
I'm just reading in an forum post that you can in fact go beyond 4, but that it's especially heavy on the graphics card.
it wasn't an opinion..it was a provable thing I told you I tested...
my lods always set at 8
yeah 8 is probably plenty. and for all I know higher than 8 might not do anything, i just always go high when testing to see if that is the problem
but my mesh lashes still look like dookie so...if anyone's got a solution that would be great lol
I think I changed it when I got my new laptop to see what I could do and never changed it back - but yes, FIX THE LASHES PEOPLE!
it may be an antialiasing issue, not a mesh definition issue. separate objects get rendered with "harder" edges.
ahhh that's a great point...i'll look into those settings
you can bump your antialiasing up and see if it helps- but there's only so much that can be done from any direction for things that need to be that delicate
checked my anti-aliasing...that was also maxed out. lol no wonder I lag like hell half the time.
that's under hardware settings, right? or is there somewhere else?
(and maxed is proooobably unnecessary, you are unlikely to see much of a difference with it a notch or two lower, but might improve your performance)
i've kinda figured that the issue was one that even that wouldn't fix though. unfortunately it's just a limitation of SL, i think.
