I just ordered some lace weight merino to knit a very big shawl. I wanted the baby alpaca, but the color I wanted won't be available until July or August. Didn't want to wait that long.

It's in a book I got several years ago, Victorian Lace. This one is a hexagon -- or a half hexagon), that would be only three sections. Or six sections for those who have no sense at all (that's me).

The middle parts are mostly plain knitting with only a few holes. The outer parts are very lacy.
