I think no matter how Mad Men ended, it was going to be a little disappointing. But the end of Don's story was more than a bit disappointing in how uneventful it was.
I thought it was brilliant. I was not liking don's story until that last 20 seconds. Then I understood the lead-up.
My beef, really, is that for the last 3 or so episodes, all of Don's interactions have been with strangers or else on the phone. I didn't really care for that.
Yes that's partly why I wasn't living don's story. I also never have liked his California parts nearly as much anyway.
