I always thought some of them would be interesting to play off of in a post-canon context, just to see what they could potentially become in any given setting, given a chance.

I really just want to see them ditch Orochimaru and see them after the time skip as a roving gang of missing nin working together

That said, I don't think I know anyone who plays any of them off the top of my head.

Sound Nins in general, they get so little screen time and are mostly there to get defeated. But they end up being the most interesting chracters because of how they end up following Orochimaru.

Sometimes, the best thing about Naruto are its minor chracters.

ended up Tayuya was alone for a long time without them and started dating. Twins were bastards for like a year? but "fuck you mine" turned into hair pulling and banter and they were still assholes but!

I actually fell in love with the series because of the Wave Arc. And then came the Chuunin Exams and the parade of secondary characters.

Such great secondary characters.
