You know, I delayed clicking on this post a while because green salad sounded boring. But I'm glad I finally did; the post was not! Quite amusing, really. :-)

Was this the first 2/10? Have you gotten a 1/10? I somehow want you to, as an accomplishment of sorts. Or if only for yet more hilarity. :-)

I don't think there's a 1/10 yet. I'm sure the previous low was the liver which also got a 2/10. There are some more things to come that could score poorly though :-)

HIlarious. It reminds me of the salads of my childhood, or in old-fashioned restaurants.

There are few leaves that can stand alone with no companions. I must say I love arugula on its own, but little else.

Growing up in Argentina, the default "ensalada" would consist of just lettuce and tomatos. Nothing else.

lettuce and tomatoes would be nice. Just large amounts of lettuce alone is a bit monotonous. I guess the lettuce is my least favourite part of a salad.

had green salads that were a mix of different kinds of lettuces, and that worked very well. Just one kind? Boring.

I may give that tarragon vinegar a whirl! Could also be good in marinades.

the tarragon vinegar was easily the highlight of the day

I think I've had just soft lettuce along with steak frites but the dressing was great- lemon oil and salt maybe? And it was a small amount- refreshing

I've had a salad that was a wedge of iceberg lettuce with thousand island dressing.

But was it good? If you replaced the dressing with something bland, was it still good?
Gwênlyn says

...or if you changed the dosage to hundred island dressing?
Loli

It was good with the thousand island dressing, and the wedge shape made the texture different - firmer.

Even ten islands would be too many. ;-)

The islands are the little bits of chopped egg and pickle goodness!

I don't think it would work as well with a vinagrette

Chopped egg sounds good! And maybe pickled stuff, depending on details.

loves a nice wedge salad with bacon and blue cheese. It's the only way I'll eat iceberg lettuce.
