I wish I could stay in the education field but not deal with parents. The kids I tutor are so amazingly fantastic but they have the most horrible narcissistic parents you could possibly imagine.
One of the projects I give my kids is to interview their parents one of the little boys told me today, he couldn't complete it because every time he tried his mother or father said he was bothering them.
He asked me if it was okay if he interviewed his nanny instead, and it bought back so many memories of my biological mother because life with her my nanny was my mother.
I totally understand. So many parents are so crazy >< I worked at a summer residential outdoor education center for kids on the autism spectrum. Parents told him he was going to Disney just to get him away.
Some parents just need to be hit over the head or something. It's crazy that they're so wrapped up in them that they don't see their poor kid suffering and just grasping for their attention :/ Poor lil buddy.
CaptainBooger: most of the kids I tutor, have schedules I think the only time they are home is to sleep, they don't even see their parents because they have nannies that shuttle them around.
I have a treasure chest with prizes, and they never pick the candy or toys, they rather pick the coupons where they can pick a game to play with me. :/
joeysnow That's awful :/ Why have children if you're not going to spend any time with them? Those kids are probably also exhausted from all the activities they get sent to, which would also make their school
