extra fierce
compared with this, which is cute and impossible and sad.
cute cute cute
hnnnn
I'm actually trying to find Darc/Lilia fan art but there's really not much around?
I have Darc/Delma (which I do ship) and Darc/Kharg, but the most canon ship is probably Darc/Lilia and there seems to be the least for that
Haaa oh my god that comic still cracks me up XD
Yeeeaaaaaah I don't think a lot of people liked Lilia...
Oh wow, I haven't seen the "extra fierce" one before! Did you find that on Tumblr?
I'll see if I can tease my fiance into drawing more Darc/Lilia, hee
and it was either on tumblr or deviant art, I think. The extra fierce one.
yeah, admittedly the very first time I played the game I wasn't Lilia's biggest fan. But I didn't like any of the humans the first time expecially, and I found Lilia annoying after that first battle at
dragon bone valley when she kept running towards the drakyr when we were trying to protect her.
My appreciation of her grew the more times I played it. And obvs Darc likes her a lot, so who am I to question his taste?
It took a bit longer to appreciate all her strengths because they're more subtle than with the others.
Same! I didn't really appreciate her until I finished my first playthrough, and after all her "~please everyone stop fighting why can't we all get along~" goober crap, she was the one to step
forward and say "this might only be a reprieve, and true peace just might not be possible."
I just thought woah, so she doesn't have her head up her hippy-dippy ass
Then second playthrough I actually liked her.
The only other human I liked was Maru. And maybe Tatjana a little bit.
yeah, Maru is okay, he was pretty quick to stop being a dick.
Paulette thought it was reasonable to kill baby Deimos >>
She's dreadful. And Kharg haha who knows about Kharg, he's such a moron.
But yes, that bit at the end was one of my favourite parts of the game, where Lilia says that, and everything isn't suddenly perfect.
Plus Maru was the only one to pass the test at Lamda Temple because he was the only one not a racist dickweed. XD I was so proud of him, then pride turned to dread as I realized
that meant I had to fight all those Lamda monks on my own.
Kharg is such a whiny, privileged little twit. I don't hate him, but I have no sympathy for him.
Like his biggest conflict - besides finding out he's part Deimos - is the fact that people coddle him because of his being royalty
And Paulette...yeah, thanks no thanks. At least in my playthroughs, she was useless in combat, too.
Yessss, I'm so glad the ending wasn't like "everything is perfect now there is no more conflict between these two races that spent centuries hating the ever-loving fuck out of each other"
And it was Lilia, of all people LILIA, who said it first
YES she gained a lot more respect from me for that.
and it let the game end in such an interesting place. Fuck end of darkness, though .
I don't hate Kharg at all, but he was such a dullard.
And he had no real reason to hate the Deimos aside from that brief interlude where he thought Darc killed his mom. Seeing as more than anything, he was dealing with the Dilzweld army, plus Nafia always said not
to blindly hate the Deimos. I suppose there was Lloyd's death, but he just killed a baby Deimos for no reason so he deserved what he got >>
Yuuuuup. fuck Lloyd and Paulette both.
Dullard, yes, that's the perfect word for Kharg. Thank you.
Oh god End of Darkness...my fiance and a few of my friends pooled their money to get it for me as a bday present, and it was so fucking awful that like, two months later tops, I was turning it in
for store credit towards Smash Bros for Wii
I felt terrible, but I would feel worse knowing that abomination was in my fucking house
The only good to come of it was seeing that apparently Lilia learned to fight - I took it to headcanon that Darc taught her and thus they hooked up that way, haha
haha that's good headcanon! And also handy, because it gives you some canon backing for her learning to fight in rp if you want her to! Not that it's especially important.
End of Darkness was never released in England and at first I was really pissy about that, but I heard some things about it that made me glad in the end. I don't think I'd ever want to play it.
it just sounds sad and hugely disappointing and a mockery of everything that happened in TotS >>
Yeeeaaaah you aren't missing anything. The worst thing is, the game could've been at least keep-able if it weren't for the shitty missions.
You could do side missions to earn extra stuff, but it was always the same four kinds of missions, like "defeat x number of enemies", "protect x target", etc. BUT
all the story missions were the same thing, just with some story attached to it.
And the story missions were the only ones where you could use characters besides the lead, Edda
Plus they changed Darc's voice actor, so even when I played as him it was cringe-inducing.
And we never actually see Darc or Kharg, even in the storyline. You can just randomly play as them but they were never actually present?
There were glimpses of the world recovering in the aftermath of TotS though, and some of them stuck with me.
Rueloon opened up in the hopes of being the first city where humans and Deimos could live together. There was this one female Deimos flying around in a section of the city,
and a human guy standing below her who kept calling up to her, asking her name, to talk to her, etc. As the game went on, she eventually conceded. I imagine if I had kept/finished
EoD, they probably would've gotten together.
And in one story mission, you and Paulette prevent this one male Drakyr from attacking a human settlement. I forget his name, but he just wanted to protect his daughter, Pao.
Long story short, he moved with Pao to Yewbell and joined their defence corp. He was flying around town, keeping an eye on things, and Pao was trying to get along with the local human kids.
WHY DID THIS GAME HAVE TO SUCK
Paulette's pep talk to the Drakyr implied that she actually took some time to get to know Darc. WHY COULDN'T DARC HAVE BEEN THERE TOO
WHYYYYYYY
Anyhoo, I think I would like her to learn to fight in Carvaka, but we can let her settle in first. As much as anyone ever settles in, anyway, haha
yeah there was so much potential for really interesting things, why did they have to fuck it up. They did SUCH a good job with TotS, I'm sad they ruined it. And didn't Bebedora just end up back in that box? I'm
sure I read that somewhere
I don't remember encountering it in the game myself, but that's what I heard, too. Maru showed up a couple of times, but I would imagine if Bebedora was still around,
she would've been there too. I mean I get that Maru was going to age and she probably wouldn't, because she was just made to look like a little girl? But still, she was such an interesting character.
The only thing I really remember happening with Maru was that he tried super hard to set up like a reunion dinner thing, but only a few of the human characters from TotS could make it.
He was so upset and it hurt my heart.
Very. You tried bb, you tried
Haha yes, it's always Kharg's fault.
yes. everything is Kharg's fault.
