kyaaa kyaaa i found two more hatchers for tonight i'm getting my shiny zigzagoon and possibly one more
USING THE TSV/ESV METHOD IS GREAT BECAUSE INSTEAD OF TRADING I CAN CATCH/BREED MY OWN SHINIES AND THEY'LL BE IN PREMIER BALLS AND EVERYTHING jflkaeh;etginors
so far I have Zangoose, Venusaur, Sylveon, Eeevee (will be Glaceon eventually), Bulbasaur, and Goldeen just in the 'premier balls' category
i also have pelipper, murkrow, octillery, and magikarp traded, and beldum/rayquaza from events
oh and pansage and stunky that I caught myself, but in pokéballs because it was too early to have premier balls making them WORTHLESS
i've been using zangoose/sylveon/venusaur as my battle maison team because i really need some move tutor BP
they're not the best IV-wise but they're EV trained and good enough to beat the first battle chataine at least so that's a good chunk of points, if not enough to actually get any of the good distinctions
my main source of frustration is that the two pokémon families i REALLY want shiny - porgygon/evolutions and voltorb + electrode - can't pass down pokéballs so if i want premier ball ones, still gotta dexnav
oh well my shiny Zangoose is beautiful and after one Swords Dance it can basically murder anything in the battle maison that doesn't OHKO it first
How do you find out your tsv anyway
er, there's a guide, but it's hard to have the right equipment
Oooh that works. And they have to check the egg value too?
yeah the ppl on this reddit will basically check any number of separate game file/egg shiny values for you so long as you agree to post a thread for hatching ppl's eggs
because obviously any 4-number combo is going to have infinite combinations and they need as many as possible
it's a bit of a read to get all the info you need going in, but once you have everything down and post your threads it's just a matter of checking in a few times a week or whenever you need somone to ID eggs
Oooh. I should try this sometime maybe
YOU REALLY SHOULD I PUT IT OFF FOR THE LONGEST TIME BECAUSE OF HOW COMPLICATED IT LOOKED BUT
i finally invested the few hours it took to get my flair/tsv/hatching threads set up and like it's so worth it??
within the first night i had two shiny eevee and had hatched a shiny rhyhorn for someone who gave me an enigma berry as a tip
there are also a lot of giveaways where people will post their breeding leftovers with the ESVs on the egg, and if you have a matching TSV then they'll just give you the egg
i got a shiny joltik that way
(LMAO ppl will do a lot to avoid hatching a bunch of eggs they don't want in order to release them)
Oooh, that's all super neat!
If only there were an easier way to trade eggs to check though haha
there's the battle video method, that's what
SimplerUser uses
you basically hatch 5-6 eggs you want checked, start a wi-fi battle with someone, forfeit and soft reset without saving (you have to turn off forced saves)
and they can check the ESVs with that
and once you soft reset you have the eggs unhatched and can trade them to anyone with a matching TSV
any method also tells you what IVs/nature/hidden power the pokémon will have which can save a fuckton of time if you're trying to breed competitively
the only drawback i guess is that it's a commitment, like, you're expected to help people who help you with this
This stuff is always cool. I've wanted to breed my own shiny team but what is time
And also what is my team... I can't decide...
so you open your team and it's just
I don't think you can have six of the same??? Gdfhbvffhhfddffc
The bv method is really easy for me to check other people's if anyone wants that, the trade method is faster for you guys because you don't have to hatch and "unhatch" the eggs :v
