This is a new moon spread.
The center represents me.
High priestess/son of swords is what to leave behind.
9 of wands/mother of swords is what to receive
4 of swords/4 of wands is what to learn
Death/The Moon is what I can give others
The tower/6 of swords is my hopes and dreams
10 of swords/the emperor is my secret special skill
I drew two for each so they could clarify each other.
did you read any of the crossing cards as reversals or are they all upright?
I read them as upright but I wasn't sure if I should or not.
if you're working with all upright that totally works! lemme dig into this
for the "you" cards i'd say that you're rising above adversity + feeling proud/receiving praise and approaching all of that with logic and fairness/a level head
I usually do upright and rx but I wasn't sure with left and right.
And I trust your intuition
for future reference if you wanna do crossing cards with reversals i read facing left as reversed and facing right as upright!
high priestess is a card with a lot of inward energy + being nonactive and letting things unfold passively and son of swords is possibly how you were approaching that energy mentally
the knights tend to represent the extremes of their suit so it might be telling you to let go of undervaluing your intuition or being unfeeling/close-minded
especially since the mother is the more mature energy of the swords court so going from daughter to mother rather than daughter to son
nine of wands as something to receive is a little puzzling but it might be that you'll get stamina/perseverance through acting like the mother of swords i.e. with honesty/wit/experience
I ALSO got four of wands in the "what to learn" spot which is interesting
I have all the swords/wands/trees/birds
four of wands is usually about completion/celebrating and seeing how far you've come so with four of swords it's probably reflecting quietly/thoughtfully about how you've progressed and where you want to go
death and the moon for what you can give is pretty interesting since i got death as my "special skill" and i was like hrmm
so possibly it's about you helping people get back to the basics/eliminating excess/putting the past behind them and also helping them not be afraid of that change and break through illusions
also interesting is that i drew the moon for the last week of this month and i keep getting death for this week so MAYBE YOU'RE HELPING ME who knows
the tower + six of swords is maybe about wanting a sudden and intense change of scenery (literal or figurative)
like maybe you want to go on an intense enlightening trip or you just want something to shake up your routine in a huge way
and w/ the emperor + ten of swords i'd say that you're good at guiding people or yourself through (potentially melodramatic) fears + applying reason to fear
ten of swords is v much a worst case scenario + rock bottom card but it's generally because our mind makes shit worse so especially with all the swords court cards you can kind of cut through the illusions
YES A LOT. The first half made sense when I was reading it but the second half was like ????
You are really good at this. I haven't gotten to the point where I'm great at synthesizing the cards yet. It's all still sort of piecemeal with limited exceptions.
np! it takes a while to kind of balance intuitive reading with this deck since a lot of the imagery doesn't match rider-waite even though it mostly follows that system
something that helped me was understanding that the major arcana kind of represent the overarching themes of our life, the courts cards represent the players in our lives (ourselves + others)
and the numbers minor arcana are the arenas in which the themes take place
so then the courts cards are how we are/will/have responded to a theme in the home/our minds/our emotions/etc
so the huge number of swords here tells me that you have a lot of major stuff going on internally/mentally this cycle but not as much happening on the material/relationship/creative front
although there is a little bit going on in the ideas/creative energy space with the couple of wands
and you're reacting very logically to everything. haha
That makes a lot of sense actually!
This is such interesting stuff!! I want to keep practicing so I can get better at understanding the big picture.
