It was very expensive. 12 to 14 quid a cocktail expensive. There was jazz. It was all very Jeeves and Wooster.
But oh my god the cocktails. Pictures forth coming.
...two shots of the menu because I suck.
my friend's cocktail. they set fire to that little rose thing on top. it was pretty cool. the one with the... skirt
like a very posh mexican bloody mary.
and the black one was all lychees and sweet things. with a ice cube dragon and beetroot powder.
and that red one that's... somewhere... was also beetroot of some kind. my friend had that. it had a thistle in the bottom and a communion wafer on top. because.
oh my GOD what is this place?
We're going to be there in May and I know B and the friend we're going with will want to know about it
it's called oriole. It's kinda veeeeery hard to find. and if you're gonna go after 7 you need to book (we rocked up about six, and it was quiet. got busy by the time we left)
lemme go find the website.
I also knew you'd love this.
we got so lost trying to find this place.
also. there's a very nice italian place between there and the barbican tube station.
...not that I remember its name, as we just walked past it and we went in (my friend, with an italian dad who will not let anyone else cook ever, approved of it.)
excellent, thanks for the info. We're going to eat at St John in Smithfield one night, so this bar might fit in to our plans
Might go there for pre-dinner drinks
that's what we did, it worked out awesome. (but it's actually kinda... in the meat market. Like where the butchers drop off the meat in the morning.)
so don't worry if it gets a bit... weird trying to find it.
Ah, gotcha. I sort of know the neighborhood, so I think I know where you mean
I'd never been before, and neither had my friend. But it was good friday and we had nowhere to be in the morning... and apparently too much money in the bank.
