as a result of this error, which I've been getting all this week, I literally cannot Google anything, so please don't be the person who says, "Google it" as if I were too stupid to try looking it up myself

Anarya_Elderslie: no? I didn't see any system update notifications, and my phone is put in airplane mode every night, so I doubt it did it without my knowledge.

I'm seeing something about going into Settings for WiFi and disabling proxy on the network you are supposed to be connecting with.

maybe try that and see if it works?

Apparently you may have to long press the WiFi name to get into a modify option to do that though.

Not sure if you have an AdBlocker on the phone, but I'm reading that sometimes that can be the issue because it has a proxy thing that can be set up...and it messes with connecting to some things.

Just_Is Try going to your Play Store, Tap on the 3 Lines at the top and choose "My Apps" then go down to where it says "Chrome" then unistall. Once it's done uninstalling tap "Update" see if that works

if that doesn't work, try restarting your phone. There's been a few issues with the Chrome updates where certain things won't work and that's a way to fix it. If that doesn't help you may have to do a

factory reset on the phone (but do a back up of it first)

I was having the same issue earlier but a restart on the phone fixed it.
