I think it helped my case that when I came up to the desk she went 'what can I help you with today sir?'

She actually looked a little startled, when I said I was there for a name and gender change? But she didn't really say anything, just asked for my paperwork, and then it was a lot of standing there while she read and typed stuff.

I was nervous about this one, but it was pretty painless. Now it's just the DMV and then I'll be officially a man!

It is! DMV Monday, and then I'll be able to get the right name on the marriage certificate. This will be a load of stress off my mind.

It's been time consuming and a lot of paperwork, but I have not encountered a single actual problem changing my name and gender, legally. No weird comments, no obstacles.
