I will absolutely see King Arthur.
Although literally all I could think while watching King Arthur, aside from the fact that Aiden Gillen is more attractive in Game of Thrones, is "just cause some watery tart lobs a sword at you, it doesn't make you a king!"
wait i'm confused... all the king arthur previews i've seen make it look like some grimdark gritty fantasy movie, is it not that??
because if it's self aware enough to realize it's a little ridiculous and over the top, that might not be as bad as i thought it'd be
did you see the Guy Ritchie Sherlock Holmes? because it's basically that. ridic, too serious at some points but witty and actiony in a slightly over the top way
that's the one with rdj and jude law (i think that's his name...?) right?
like it doesn't make fun of itself, but it never feels like anyone's taking it way too seriously either??
oh, awesome, that's way better than i thought it would be!
Hahaha, yeah I went in with super low expectations and had fun. and it was funnier than I thought for sure
Ooh thats encouraging I love Arthurian things and wasnt sure how itd... you know, handle itself.
The Baywatch trailer looked ridiculous
failaga: oh they did pretty solidly slaughter the legend, so don't expect accuracy >>
SeeMarieRun: I wanted it to be the right kind of ridiculous, like 21 Jump Street. But no.
TBF I totally expected slaughtering of the legend
I just find Ritchie can be hit/miss for me on tone yknow
sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt
Especially the like, anachronistic thing the trailer does. Sometimes I dont mind? Sometimes it bugs me
One of the press noted, which I agree with, that it's minimal on its Ritchie-isms for most of the movie, haha
it does bounce between funny and serious and there's one scene that's pretty dumb and completely unnecessary, but overall I enjoyed it
