FFXV ... 4, 7, 9, 15, 26, 27.
FFXV NOTP: Umm, a few. Main culprit would be Prompto/Gladio. I just.... I don't get it. I don't fucking get it.
It's pair the spares for the Ignis/Noctis shippers.
The one and only ship that baffles me more
I love Ignis, okay, but prior to chapter ten he can be a real arse to Prompto. What in the name of all that is holy is making people think this is a romantic pairing?
And it's always hyper-twinky Prompto, when it's with Gladio or Ignis.
No. guys. No. Fucking no.
Anything I used to like and can't stand now, uh.... Not really. The game's heavily, heavily fucking flawed, but there's nothing I've changed my opinion on per se, unless you want to get to my tolerance for DLC bullshittery.
Because Episode Gladio was a mildly amusing waste of two hours, that provided a little bit of dialogue about and background for characters we didn't know much about before, so that was okay.
And then Episode Prompto was just a stupendous clusterfuck of non sequitur nonsense that raised way more question than it answered, and oh hey, have weekly timed quests because we have no content but need you to look interested still, and be grateful we're putting up this bullshit vote and and and....
I'm having Kingdom Hearts flashbacks man, and it's not even been a year, quit it.
Most disliked character(s): .... I dislike Ardyn because I'm supposed to. I dislike Luna because she was just an object, and, much like the Tyrells in GoT, the moment the writers had nothing more to do with her, she got shanked for dramatic effect to show us how bad the big bad is.
Luna? You mean own brand Aerith?
Unpopular opinion about the manga/show... I take it this means game in this instance. How about.... it's a beautiful shoddy clusterfuck of poor writing and worldbuilding of the quality of soggy tissue. It's predictable as all get out.
I love it anyway, but.... heavily flawed, man. I love it despite it being heavily flawed.
She's not even Own Brand Aerith, dude, she has less agency than Aerith. At least Aerith ran off to summon Holy because she knew she was the only one that could. Luna did it all because being Oracle meant she had to, it was her whole reason for being. Literally.
Most shippable character: Uhhh.... Ignis but only because I don't hate every ship barring my OTP for him, even if the other ships for him I can tolerate are... rare to unheard of.
Really? Like what? Because I don't think I could tolerate any other Ignis ships other than perhaps Ignis/Iris. Obviously timeskipped.
I can tolerate Ignis/Aranea, and I can kind of get behind Ignis/Iris. I don't ship them as such, but I don't hate them. But Aranea belongs with Cor, so it's a narrow margin.
I mostly tolerate Ignis/Aranea because his flirting with her is adorable. I doubt she'd touch him with the pointy end of her lance because he's a boy but, still.... I don't hate it like I do Ignis/Prompto XD
Least shippable character: Noct. Short of shipping him with his bed.
Canon tries to tell me this boy is so genuinely in love with the twelve year old girl he met when he was eight that he's kept in touch with her via one sentence dog mail messages every few months in the last twelve years, and this means he doesn't even look at other girls.
I'm inclined to call bullshit, but Noct having no interest because a girlfriend would put a crimp in his sleeping pattern, I can believe.
Oh jesus, why do you do this?
'cos you only have about 3 fandoms? XD
Unpopular opinion about the fandom.... The fandom or the canon? Or do I make this a twofer, because my unpopular opinion about the fandom is that they need to quit sucking Nomura's cock, he's terrible and ninety percent of everything wrong with KH is his fucking fault. He has no focus. He wanders off like a meandering fanficcer with thirty incomplete fics
I'm not sure it's possible to have an unpopular opinion about the fandom. At this point the KH fandom is a vampire buried at a crossroads, someone just forgot to stake its heart, so once in a blue moon someone drops a trailer on it and it rises from the grave more terrible and less logical than ever before.
Then fucks off again after about a day, becoming little more than a whisper on the wind and a vague memory of that time your tumblr dash was the same five seconds of footage gif's two thousand different ways.
so it's not 'akuroku' then
Pretty sure that's dead, now
Thing you hate most about your fandom.....
People that really, really, really want to bring Xion and Roxas back.
people wanna do that? why?
Fuck offfffff, they played their part, let them go
They deserve to be their own people
One of them is literally a puppet filled with Sora's memories of Kairi
The other is a Nobody of a sleeping heart.
They don't have lives, just....
It's worse because they're almost certainly going to get what they want because Nomura is a goddamned hack.
Most disliked character(s)... Uhh.... God, so many, and the worst bit is that if I said "They're all Xehanort" that doesn't help narrow it down
Basically, every confirmed version of Xehanort that isn't Saix or Xigbar can suck all of the fucks, at this point.
honestly, any character introduced after kh2 can suck all the fucks, ngl
They're tedious, unimaginative, stupid villains.
... I was going to ask how the fuck everyone is Xehanort, but on second thought I DON'T WANT TO KNOW
because time travel and magic or something idk
The New Organisation XIII is staffed entirely by Xehanorts.
Welcome to Kingdom Hearts
It's okay, about fifty percent of the good guys are Sora.
y'know, I actually don't know. I never thought about it before, I didn't realise it until now, but I genuinely don't know how independent nobodies of previous games somehow became xehanorts
I think it was mostly Nomura going "idk yellow eyes or smth w/e"
"Yes, grandad. Do you want a cup of tea?"
I... um... what the fuck??
I'm so sorry you have to deal with this
/offers consolation chocolate or something
I feel sorry for his staff, I honestly imagine them as a group of people who are all just Moblit
complete with a drinking problem, no doubt
I'd tell you to play KH Nika but you'd need a PS4 and what currently stands at 3 different box sets, and you'd still be missing some stuff, so getting a 3DS and the game with official Worst Title Ever would be required on top.
Hange is Nomura going "We need more Xehanorts."
The dev team for KH have admitted, in the past, to basically getting handed notes to include things and having no idea how they're meant to be included, so they just wing it.
They're all Moblit. Every single of them.
My tolerance for things making no fucking sense took enough of beating from AoT
and this sounds like several new exciting levels of not making sense
Yep. It started out as Heartless Are Bad, They Are Made From The Darkness In Hearts, This One Guy, Ansem, Is In Charge
and then by KH2 it turns out that the body becomes a Nobody (???) and the darkened heart becomes a Heartless (???) and Ansem isn't Ansem, he's the Heartless of a guy pretending to be Ansem, and the new villain is Xemnas, the Nobody of the guy pretending to be Ansem, and there's a team of villains
And then time travel happens
and my brain melts out of my ears
And I fail to figure out anything else from then on
yeah I would like my brain to stay where it is plz
Let's not forget where the bad guys spend pretty much all their time uh.... taking out Heartless
Y'know, the same thing you do as the good guys?
Like I literally have no idea. I can get the name switchup, that's... fine.
But ... yeah the bad guys do the same thing as the good guys, because.. why not
How Squeenix want you think the timeline for these games runs
And they also fall victim to
"kill the good guys" while setting themselves up to be systematically killed off, in spite of them needing him, so idk
How it actually runs
I still say my favourite bit is where Demyx, having obviously been given instructions to stop you, as Sora, at all costs, fights you and dies
Trying to stop you from getting to the 1000 heartless the bad guys want you to reach, and once you get through them, the big bad Xemnas is waiting for you
they went "fuck it, kill demyx"
Demyx is literally just there because someone figured they needed a boss fight there.
The people that sent him there not only didn't expect him to win, they were relying on him to lose.
Which is why we didn't update canon in any way, except for prequel information, for Spira.
Because let's face it, Spira is an AU game for the majority of the cast, but for the OCs and Nobodies, it's a cosmic claw-grab
We could have sorted extra information out
Kingdom Heats is the only series that could possibly have taken one look at its confused nonsensical plotline and decided time travel will make it better.
Oh, tell a lie, we're including Axel having a keyblade, because we can figure it into our system.
Yeah, that doesn't run counter to Spiran possibility
time travel from nomura, incidentally
who was, iirc, responsible for ffviii
Yeah, so it has the weird caveat that you can only travel to when there's a form of yourself waiting for you
For now, anyway. I expect that will get binned the moment it's an inconvenience.
