For ref I'm cosplaying Taako and Lup with a friend, and I'm stoked to be the raddest twins

As far as wigs go, I'm probs gonna go with the blonde wig with a side-braid

The tricky part is make-up. I know I want eyeshadow and eyeliner with wings, maybe lipstick, but color is the tricky part. How much should I stick with the red from the IPRE Jacket and Robe? Defo complimentary to them, but I think all that same red would be a bit of overkill

The Jacket over the robe is a freebie design element; I'm thinking interfacing the robe, have it come down to about above the ankles. Jacket I'm thinking like. Not quite a letterman but in the same ballpark, with that NASA-inspired IPRE patch

The rest of the outfit is the biggest question mark. Rough plans for now is a white blouse, a waist-sash, black pants, boots with a defined heel. I'm thinking practical for a space mission but definitely walk walk fashion baby

I actually think red eyeliner and red lipstick complimentary to the IPRE robes would be fine if you had a neutral shadow

or you could do red eyeshadow in the lower corners of the eye

no prob! and red can be hard to integrate in eye makeup sometimes

Do you think I'm missing anything in particular/have alternate suggestions for costume elements?

honestly I'm not so sure about the jacket over the robe, especially if you've got an outfit underneath

since I thought everyone had one or the other

other than that, just make sure everything is, like you said, high fashion-esque, if you're going to keep it simple

I'm not sure how jokey-joke he was being but Justin said that Taako grabbed both, and put the jacket over the robe

It's definitely going to look... well, extra, so getting it to look good will be the challenge

in that case, I'd almost say don't have anything underneath the robe if you're going to have it be long

just go with some killer boots

because otherwise it just ends up 1) looking like A Lot 2) being a lot of layers

Killer boots are absolutely /essential/, no worries on that front. But I totally feel you; I wasn't sure whether I was gonna wear the Jacket/Robe combo open or closed so I wanted to have at least a vague plan of what goes under. Especially since if the con is Boiling I wanna have an option to get out of all those layers

But if it's closed you're probably not going to see the rest of the costume elements so it'll avoid looking cluttered, and I wanted to keep whatever is under simple for clutter reasons too

I've seen a lot of people do shorter robes or split-robes, if you wanted to do something that would probably layer more easily

Yeah the more I think about it the more I like the robe going just above the knee as far as length goes

and I guess I was envisioning it as more of a cloak?like under the jacket all you'd really see of it is the tail/s of it coming down
