My name's Endorph, I'm 24, and I live in Virginia. I'm studying Japanese with the goal of being a translator, though obviously that's a pretty long road to walk.
Besides Symphogear (which I would literally die for), my big fandoms are Fire Emblem, Fate/, and Tales of. In terms of non-nerd interests, I really love Chinese history, especially Three Kingdoms era stuff. Okay, that's kind of a nerd interest too, but at least it's a unique one?
I probably won't plurk much outside of RP since I'm a little shy about tossing my voice out into the void, but if you ever wanna ping me to chat about whatever I'm on Discord as Endorph#7588. Looking forward to playing with all of you!
Hi Dany's roomie! :> It's nice to meet you! I'm also in VA, /hi5
/hi5! VA room 4 life, clearly. I'm down in Southwest VA.
Oh nice, I'm in richmond! :> Are you currently in school studying Japanese/how much longer til graduation if you are??
And yes, virginians represent untz untz
untz! I'm not in school for it yet, I'm studying on my own time. I'd like to transition into going to actual school for it though, especially since I could possibly get some overseas study going.
That would be awesome! Gosh, all the traveling you could do for that, it sounds amazing. I wish you all the luck with that!
Thank you! A friend of mine has actually already done that for their college stuff so I'm hoping to follow in their footsteps. Plus I help them with fantranslations sometimes so it kinda feels like I'm already in the loop, at least a little.
Yeah that definitely helps, for sure! Build that portfolio now :>
That's really good practice, plus you are def in the loop I would say. Helps get your name out there a little more
Thanks! And YEAH!!! I'm not gonna lie, I got into it via Dynasty Warriors and the other Koei games, but then I started reading actual textbooks and stuff and it's really really fascinating
lmao welcome to the club on that front
I'm sure a lot of people are the same way, even people into the actual history I've talked to say 'yeah i got into it via DW'
It's a good thing! With Samurai Warriors, that interest in the history behind the games and people loving Mitsunari in it ended up causing a huge surge of tourism into his birthplace, for example.
Yeah! It's honestly really nice to see somewhat obscure parts of history get brought back in the public consciousness like that?
Fate/ made a lot of people more interested in Arthurian mythology for instance. It's just one of the side benefits of playing with history like that, and a really nice one.
Always gives me a warm fuzzy feeling to see it make an impact. <3
Yeah, it's honestly a nice way of generating interest? Plus nowadays I'm a sucker for anything that plays with history.
Not gonna lie... yeah... everytime a game with historical inspiration comes out I am THERE which is half the reason Agoge seized me.
Agoge definitely has a super interesting premise! And then I was like 'hey my girl Latte would actually slot in kinda well what with the loose history connection' and now, well, here we are
Definitely a great game for historical/mythological characters
Just wait until the game puts a character in a battle/era relevant to their own...
prelati just missed france tho to be fair her connection there is pretty tangential. minus her pal gilles getting his grave trashed
HI THERE, I'M FROOT
also welcome to plurk?! i hope you have a ton of fun
