so since lumens (the company I ~technically~ work for) got acquired by ydesign there's been a slow, painful integration process as lumens, formerly a lighting-only company, adds furniture and plumbing to its website
its CMS (called the PIM, for the future) is custom built and is designed around lighting products
they have categories for "furniture" but not "bath" and amanda (my publisher) was like "hey is this going to be a problem since we need to put bath in" and they were like "oh we're working on it"
[narrator voice] but they were not working on it.
so I show up and for three weeks I build bath products in the PIM; amanda tells me it's good, our merchandiser (one link up in the chain of command) tells us it's good
today amanda comes up to me as soon as I sit down and tells me we have a problem
since there is no bath category, everything is Categorized Wrong since it's all either in furniture or accessories
and we might have to rebuild everything, which is a HUGE amount of work for everyone in merchandising, but apparently less work than trying to change the existing products
and like... for me personally that's about 150-200 items
I say "everyone" in merchandising but as far as I know the only ones in this office who are doing bath are me and amanda so more like a huge amount of work for the two of us, maybe the temps they brought in, idk if they're doing bath or lighting
so now we have nothing to do because we aren't allowed to build any more products since that'll just add to the problem
when scott shows up amanda's going to try to get us set up building lighting instead but whoooo knoooows
