for reference, this project is essentially comparing a big list of ydesign's SKUs against lumens' SKUs because some don't match up and everything needs to match so we can properly integrate the two brands

the brand I'm working on rn has 659 SKUs total

on y's side, anyway

I suspect it's more than that on lumens' side

anyway this particular product (ceiling fan) has a handful of SKUs that are marked as not existing in the PIM

which means y has them but lumens doesn't

the y version of the product has 72 total SKUs, and the lumens version in the PIM has over 200

sometimes the issues are like, a typo, or a duplicate SKU or something

BUT

when you create a product in the PIM, and you add variants to it (size options, colors, etc) a step in that process is deciding which variant combinations can and cannot exist

like if you have a lamp that comes in red, yellow, and blue, and there are options for LED lamping, a 40 watt bulb, and a 35 watt halogen bulb, but for whatever reason the red body color doesn't work with the halogen bulb

so you have to delete that variant combination

and as it turns out all of the problem SKUs for this product are variant combinations that were removed from existence during the creation process, and there's no actual way to add them back in

I can tell from the product ID that this product is really old, so I don't know if it's supposed to be discontinued, or if I'm going to have to rebuild the product, or what

but I spent like an hour and a half trying to figure out what the problem was lmfao

also I still have 5 batches that need products released from them? becky doesn't appear to be in today and scott isn't available on hipchat even though he's... you know, back today

so nobody can release them for me

I'm losing my marbles

it's been like a week?! I have five brands I can't close out bc of this

and now 659 SKUs stuck until I can get a fix for the variant issue

scott is on other projects so shouldn't have to do this stuff for us even if he WAS available on hipchat lol
