my mom wrote a new play (this one is monologues about immigration) and commissioned me for the poster and it's the most basic thing I've ever made but she's so proud of it https://i.imgur.com/I5H7R1Z.jpg
but I think that as she's gotten much more politically active in recent years she's become very aware of her privilege and as far as I know she's sourcing experiences from immigrants in her community
so I think it's more like... her way of trying to use her privilege as a platform and direct attention to voices that wouldn't normally be heard, especially in a state like maine, which is still over 94% white
but yeah, I'm hopeful this play will meet with the same success as her other works, especially since to my knowledge this is the first time she's written something that isn't heavily referenced by her own personal experiences
