I also have Netflix, but no other streaming programs.
The only genre I don’t really care for at large is pure comedies.
I would say recommend me tv shows too, but my attention span barely accommodates for movies
I know there’s so many good ones...
literally anything miyazaki
also all the disney/pixar stuff
uhhh cheaper by the dozen and rv are really funny
how have you only seen 8 movies and why was the room one of them
why would you make the room one of those things you saw
i'm also a huge miyazaki fan but if you need specifics!! totoro's an excellent feel good movie, the wind rises cuts you open and lets you bleed out on the ground, spirited away and howl's moving castle are the other big names that are also v good
grave of the fireflies is something you watch when you want to bawl your eyes out
more recently i loved!! la la land a lot!! because i have a huge fondness for musicals, and it did a lot of really good, fun things and i had a good time from start to finish
GRAVE OF THE FIREFLIES WEEPS LOUDLY seconding all the ghiblis
also The Cat Returns is a personal ghibli fave
THE CAT RETURNS IS ALSO V GOOD weh
ummm cult classics like The Labyrinth
if you want something to fuck you up a little i recommend old boy
like :shooketh: kind of fucked up
8 is an exaggeration, I have seen a lot more than 8 films, I just haven’t watched any in a billion years.
ghibli is good!!!!! I have seen Cat Returns and I definitely wore out my Totoro video when I was young.... but I need to watch all the rest
AI is an excellent modern science fiction movie that did a lot of things very well and another recent fave
when I say I’ve seen 8 movies I mean “I haven’t seen Jurassic Park or Lord of the Rings or Pulp Fiction and I get harassed for this”
that being said please recommend what classics are best...
god i'm garbage at classics too uh
ooh, AI. I love me some robots/computers
oh i also really liked life of pi, even tho it was super intense
the best exotic marigold hotel is really cute too
ive watched a lot of movies but most of them have been hot garbage so im trying to remember which ones were remotely worth recommending
book of life is def worth a watch, as is rise of the guardians
please see jurassic park and lotr???
you should 100% see gattaca
have you even seen star wars
princess mononoke is one of my fave miyazaki movies too, since it wasn't mentioned before
the borrowers is real cute too
i enjoyed guardians of the galaxy, even tho it was extremely cheesy
also no I have not seen a star war
I’ve seen gotg, but not the second one...
I am at work but rest assured these are all being noted
I’m also into horror, if anyone in my plurk crowd is, not gorefests but psychological horror/thrillers!!
have you seen Silence of the Lambs
just assume I haven’t seen a movie unless I call you out, you of all people should know this...
I know but you said psychological horror
I did... but I also just admitted to never seeing a Star Wars movie
It's two hours but it's a Very good movie
I’ve heard good things about that one!!!! eyes emoji
do it... I haven't been the same since I watched it tbh
I’ve heard so many things about everything but I never!! make a gd list. I’m doing that right now
I can't believe no storwor
excellent
if I owned more movies I would offer to stream them for you
LISTEN...... I grew up in a Trek household and when these ones started coming out I felt like I should watch some old ones first and then completely forgot about doing so
that’s how all of my movie intentions go
trek household..... acceptable
ty
anyway if you like horror/suspense, watch silence of the lambs, that's like, my go-to horror suspense. Or The Shining (old one)
the talented mr ripley is a good psychological thriller
As far as My Favorite Movies: anything by Mel Brooks, I know you said no straight comedy but!! but!!!
you should watch at least one of them with me
I’m not totally closed to comedies! I just have negative desire to sit down by myself and put one on, but watching with someone is much better.
I would watch a Mel Brooks movie with u jessa
good because I know the Feel about comedies but this is Actual Comedy
I really dig the awakening!
it's on netflix iand is Spooky
the ritual is also on netflix and is also spooky
nice!!! I feel like I’ve heard about these, even more reason to watch
i liked Dope a lot it's on netflix
i think i'm more of a tv person tbh but i loved Heathers (the original 80s one)
it's a bit of an acquired taste tho!
nice!! to the list with these.
