Man, I am AMAZED at the lengths fans will go to to completely disregard the disgusting actions of a hugely flawed character they like. I mean, in this anime, Darling in the Franxx, one of the FEMALE characters, Ichigo

FORCES a kiss on the MALE MC, HIro, when he is emotionally devastated by the girl he likes, Zero Two, being taken away. And it's without question he wanted no part of it - and that's not even the worst crime Ichigo's committed in terms of personality and disregard of another character's feelings.

And yet her fans refuse to acknowledge their precious princess did anything wrong and whenever someone points out the things she's messed up on, they immediately attack the other side and label them as a fan of Zero Two, who isn't perfect either, but is a helluva lot better than Ichigo (and is the actual love interest for the MC).

(I'm betting if it were reversed and it was a guy forcing a kiss on the girl, the fans would be calling for blood instead )

When in fact the issue isn't 'I like A over B', the issue is more pointing out that the character is deeply flawed (which would be good if they acknowledged the flaws - but they don't) and all around a bad leader (considering she's willing to sacrifice her actual partner in favor of her crush, who doesn't even LIKE her that way ... yeaaaaaah.)

And while I'm on the subject, making a comment that says: "I like X. Change my Mind." Is a deliberate attempt to goad people into fighting with you and one of the more obnoxious things you can see in a fandom.
