i think you can actually apply somewhere to improve it bc there is an achievement badge for that
seriously seriously
you can contribute to that messy yet cute site wwww
it is a very messy site... the japanese just sounds like someone who has taken a japanese class but has never actually used a website in english lmaofd djk
the layout is fun for now... i'm finding a lot of little places where i'd like to see improvements
fklvd that's something... i haven't checked it japanese but i'm sure you could improve it heh
tbh i'm already enjoying myself here! only problem is that it migt be hard to find content/new people here
i think the japanese was trying to be playful but there was some parts that just sound so clunky like f.e. i would never use 私の as a tab for "my plurks" i'd just use 自分
but yeah this site is A+ for interactions and i think it's lovely for its thread options!
OHH i get it... well! it seems like they are still working on translations so you could check it out if you feel like it
yeah!! threading and privacy is great, it's almost like a bit of twitter and some messenger www
yes thanks for the linkie viivii! i might pick it up tbh though i'm afraid they're come and scrutinize my plurk and see me mega complaining about it LOL
yeah that's a really nice system tbh, makes everything much easier to see and respond to
oh you didn't complain this much yet laughs but if you have time for it then why not? that's always some practice
yes huhu i can make a private plurk just to be cheesy with you
yeah but you know how companies are when they're trying to employ you... they read up all about you where they can... but it would be a cool thing to put as a personal accomplishment i guess
wiggles.... a-a private plurk ....
well... depends on how employment as a translator looks like here... would be silly to cross out someone with very good japapanese bc their said the said language on their site is crap
seems like it's volunteer work... but you're right, i could probably be accepted to fix it up
ahh volunteer... well i guess it's a pretty small website... like i saw they added plurk coins so if people buy them they can get rid of adds...
yeah... it seems to be a very small site. but i can't figure out anything about who runs it? and it gave me the impression that it wasn't actually released in english at first
looking at the badges... it seems to be even kind of crowdsourced
hm... the developer of mobile app seems to have a japanese post address? perhaps it's creaded by foreigners living in japan or sth?? their english it weird sometimes too fkgbjfg
if it's the app developer... they could be one of the original creators or they could be another crowdsource... it's really mysterious fdkjsdlk
but yeah there's apparently a plurk (and unofficial one??) dedicated to translating plurk updates into english so i'm like ??? what language is it in originally??
they seem to be a part of the team at least... oh, i just read on wiki that it has hq in taiwan jvkd this is getting more complicated, i suppose they want to reach both japanese and international audience??
this is more mysterious the more i read about plurk fjgb
well for translators they actually have a lot of language options, so it seems they want just anyone to contribute... and this is the fastest and probably cheapest way to do so, if not entirely reliable or user-friendly
hmm well, it's even heartwarming that it's such a user-friendly and not profit oriented site, and it's been around for 10 years, congrats on holding up next to huge micro-blogging platforms!
oh viivii www you've always had a soft spot for things that try hard... that is very admirable though, i guess i couldn't mind contributing
laughs you could tell i'm also growing tired with big companies that don't care about their community and make their sites unuseable for the sake of profit... so such straightforward timeline is very refreshing.
ahh good luck miimii!! you're the best!!
aww sweetie thank you so much! i'll give it a try!
but that's very true... i didn't link the shadowbanning with making profits, though that could just be twitter trying to bend under the intense demands of the users trying to get rid of spam bots, neonazi accounts, and the like... but yeah the weird thing twit does with showing likes and doing things out of chronological order is such nonsense
ohh shadowbanning was supposed to get rid of hate speech and spam bots mostly but then algorithm went to shit and don't even feel like addressing him ;/ but yeah, the rest is pure marketing and the worst is that twitter isn't the only social media to do that
i think spam bots and hate speech is basically what i said, also russian propaganda bots are a real problem too and i always see it in the news hff... but yeah the rest is really trying to market it to an even wider base but in the process pissing off its regular users with the new changes....... remember the old days when we pressed a star to fave things,,
yeah, you're right... russian bots are especially sensitive in an active us part of a twitter but i'm not sure if shadowban resolved it at all? i find this marketing really odd since i can't imagine messy timeline appealing to anyone but oh well, i'm not someone that'd actually pour real big money at twitter after all... stars were so much better tho,,
yeah i'm like?? does banning words even help? suspicious activity is so hard to define? twitter is really making itself unusable rather than fixing the problem, yeesh... but yeah thank god plurk actually puts things in chronological order lmao
altho i was very thankful for the "in case u missed" feature
RIGHT i bet it helped nothing, like i'm sure it takes seconds to erase all trigger words from both and like, manners and hygiene has nothing to do with hate speech?? way to go twitter...
i liked that feature when it appeared once on your tl but sometimes if you were a bit inactive it showed you like five in a row...
i don't even understand... the only thing i can think of is maybe twitter's algorithm is self-learning and it's picking up all these new words like teeth and love and thank, and either it's a general widespread mistake or ppl are taking advantage of the algorithm bug and making common words ban ppl
but for sure it's self-learning somehow... it would explain why new shadowbanny words are popping up all the time....
but yeah anyway you're right, it would sometimes show a bit too often, and the same tweets would be in different versions of it sigh... can't have everything ig
i wonder how people messed with algorithm... makes me wonder if public panic with twitter shadowbanning people that ever mentioned suicide has sth to do with it since a lot of people went and tried to prevent getting banned
but yeah, it's self-learning without a doubt, i wonder if old trigger words still work, too...
true... i just liked it more when the introduced i first and before twitter started messing with chronology and adds
