Load! I'm in the 400B section!
I'm new unload. tho I interview for QA tomorrow morning
they had me on IC belt today
good luck to both of you!
especially DA going for QA. it is cushy
question, what kind of scanners do they have at that hub?
The kind with a small finger laser that hooks up via cord, or a wireless one with a laser that straps onto two fingers?
The two finger straps ones. XD
new unload has the cord version
You probably have to do more entering things manually than I do, I'm assuming.
Second day was less exhausting than the first. I think I'm getting the hang of this. So damn many ICs though.
Good luck on your interview DA!
I just finished. we'll see how it goes
yeah the new scanners don't have the programming for doing IC labeling, smalls and vans.
and yeah, ICs can be really tiring. just wait till you get the big purple vinyl bags containing mattresses. those are about 140lb and annoying to move
they look like giant long purple logs
the CHAT... floor to ceiling carpet. almost as bad as a Chewie truck
fucking CHAT. Haven't encountered much Chewie on my routes, though. Lots of goddamn Blick, though. Clay and paint weighing a gazillion pounds and sometimes leaking!
chewie trucks are really only awful when you're unloading them
also Chewy boxes are notorious for needing to be retaped. The company uses auto-tapers to seal them, so that can fuck up sometimes
if DA gets that QA position she'll see a looooot of Chewy to fix up
(by the way, Chicago is notorious for loading hazmats improperly. take care should you ever unload a trailer from Chicago. they put 'em in the belly, ignore directional arrows, have multiple hazmats touching, and I have also seen some like 5' above the flaps in a wall.)
(and narc on Chicago to the manager about it.)
the started fixing Chewie at truck level. they just tape as they unload
