[infinity war][spoilers] finally watched it! it's amazing how it has everything i absolutely hate about marvel movies and none of the things i love.

shock value death, building up that leads nowhere, pointlessly dead civilians, ugly bloated shots, and completely tone inappropriate jokes. well slap a pg-13 rating on it and call it a marvel movie, because we're gonna make millions out of this, son

I don't even care about Marvel movies and the little I saw of it made me go "Hmmmm, no."

it just. completely undermined the work of the other directors. what was the point of making the asgardians immigrants if they were just gonna die, what was the point of thor symbolically losing his eye and hammer if they were just gonna get replaced, what was the point of building up gamora and quill through 2 movies if theyre just gonna kiss randomly

My comic nerd friends were all talking to each other about how GREAT the movie was then I watched part of it because I got curious and I was just "Welp, that's pretty not great."

it's formulaic and hits up the things people love about the marvel movies, things i coincidentally think are cheap

i didn't hate a l l of it, i thought some scenes were genuinely funny and i loved seeing some of my faves interact w each other (LOVE thor meeting the guardians cast), but it was just completely pointless lmao

also i guess w how the first two guardians movies treated gamora, killing her off for a rando villain's man angst seems totally appropriate yup lmao

i think a good taking over is adding elements on top of what the other directors established instead of just "fixing" or "completely erasing" the shit theyve done????

I agree

they're not going to keep the dead characters dead so just knowing that ruins any inherent sadness

Marvel makes too much money off of those characters

I still haven't seen it despite seeing most of the Marvel movies... I just found it difficult to bring myself to care about this movie's plot

yeah it's hard to get """invested""" in the dead characters when they're already publicly announced in the future movies LMAO
