I wasn't even sure how much I was enjoying it when I actually watched it, but apparently I'm actually fairly invested in Viren and his idiot children who he seems to love but also clearly has a favourite and would probably rather they didn't die but if it's a choice between Child and Goals he's probably picking goals
And also invested in the individual dynamics he has with two said children, and the relationship they have with each other, because it's all so positive! but! also completely messed up beneath the surface!
and not even very deep beneath the surface, like, you get the feeling that if they weren't both such Idiot Savants then Viren would have a real problem on his hands
At first I was grumpy because I felt like the show did a really nice job of making Viren an engaging and subtle character in the first two episodes and then seemed to completely veer off of that halfway through episode three, but... here i am!
