I'm so out of the loop on every single bit of drama that when I see a notice about an event I'm in, and log in immediately to read it only to find out its someone hiding behind a brand new alt, I go immediately from "don't care" to "I care but in the exact opposite way that you intended"

TrompeLoeil: I don't agree with sending anon notecards, but there really has been a serious situation happening, which is causing brands to drop their events. I'm hoping there is a resolution soon or else morally I wouldn't feel right continuing to be a part of C88. I do think what is going on is at the very least something to at least think about.

lxlNoel: My issue is getting dragged into other people's issues. There is literally no way for me to know who is in the right or wrong, or what percentage of either is the case. I'm not going to spend my time and energy trying to figure it out and I deeply resent getting roped into it by an anonymous account

I wish everybody involved the best and respect whatever decisions they're making on behalf of their businesses and brands but they don't need my approval or support to make those decisions

TakagiGraves: that's the majority of my issue with it. Its one thing to be approached by another designer about an issue with an event, its entirely another to get spammed by an anonymous account inworld with a drama dump

If someone wants to talk to me one on one that's awesome, I will be absolutely willing to hear what they have to say, even if it doesn't affect how I run my business or why. But try to drag me into an ongoing mess I have no previous interaction with behind a day old account name just makes you look like the offending party full stop

My one plurk is all that I've put out. I haven't posted or written anything anywhere else. I also don't know anything about anyone sending notecards like that. I'm sorry you're gettin' spammed by anything Cory, and anyone else.

slutrix: I can only tell you what happened that involves me, which is I got a notecard from an object owned by a day old anonymous account addressed to participants in an event I'm involved with that details some back and forth issues between the event owners and a another person that apparently they felt I should know about

mishaselene: yeah I'm pretty sure they added just about everybody associated with this event to their object distro list which is also a TOS violation on top of everything else, and yes I am petty enough to report it

No fault there. You should report, at this point, it loses all credibility when it's anon

mishaselene: oh totally ARed, I try to be flexible when people add me to object distro lists to invite me to events (usually people don't realize and remove me when I ask) but this was done specifically to mass-spam people with dramabombs and I get actually angry over that lol

Like I say, we're supposedly the adult form of the product of 4 sodding billion years of evolution and it's high time we started acting like it.

I don't think AR'ing this is being petty at all. It is the right thing to do. Hopefully other designers do the same.

between this notecard thing and the anon plurk, the three actual parties involved all seem to be handling this publicly with a ton more discretion and care than anybody else not directly involved who are arguing their sides for them

I'm gonna keep my mouth shut on all this for perhaps obvious reasons, but... wow, really?
