So my mom had a PET scan on Friday and was told she'd get results on Monday.

This afternoon I convinced her to call the office because she still hadn't heard

Turns out her doctor is out of town all this week (after promising she wouldn't have to wait to get results), the MA is out today, etc

Like 4 phone calls later, my mom got someone who confirmed that someone else will be back tomorrow and will call her with results

So we're waiting another day to find out if the lesions are metabolic (if so, then biopsies and probs cancer)

So kinda simplifying but my mom has been waiting 4 days to find out if she has cancer

Which, you know, is forever

oh jeez

Someone called and my mom now has an appt first thing Thursday to discuss the results

On the one hand, another day. On the other hand, you pretty much know what it's going to be.

Not cancer! She has the appt to talk about if she needs surgery on her kidney anyway, but highly unlikely it's cancer.
