also not a fan of Steve's ending like. All this talk of 'can't change the past, time travel doesn't work like that,' but then there's Steve traveling back in time to be with Peggy????

I mean. if he went back and stayed with Peggy, wtf happened to the man she canonically married, what happened to her kids?

i liked it overall but yes i share these opinions

eventually I will see it, but..... sitting through a Benedryl Cumberbund centered movie is not appealing

On another note; they could've used a lot more of the ladies than they actually utilized for the movie.

my beef with the movie is like the length it kind of went to, intentionally or not, erase Ragnorok

like. the two point five seconds of the ladies gathering around Peter at the end to get the gauntlet through the battle was not enough

I haven't seen Endgame and don't think I care enough lol. but popping in to say I enjoyed Dr. Strange. It's very fun to watch, if nothing else, and it's also about people giving a LOT of sass to butternut cabbagepatch's character when he's a dick which is great

On the erasing Thor Ragnarok thing, yeah. the character choices for Thor in this movie felt like they were completely bypassing all the character development Thor has had over the years

like. suddenly he's back to beginning of movie one dumbass jock Thor???

i think the only think i enjoyed about Thor is that he kept giving off a Big Lebowski vibe, which i found hilarious

I also dislike that we had a couple movies build up for Bruce having issues with Hulk....

and then it's all solved in a five year time jump that's off screen

like. I love Bruce, he's one of my favorite characters in the MCU (which is funny, because I've never been a Hulk fan), and they give us all this build up in other movies, since they can't get the rights to a Hulk movie by itself....

past Gamora just. vanishing, without a single word said about it in movie. which, my brother argued that that's where the next GOTG movie will be going, with Quill looking at her face before Thor walked onto the ship, but. idk, if just felt like they could've done a little more with that

also. how the hell does Tony freaking dusting Thanos and his entire army affect the timeline???

putting the stones back in their proper times isn't going to fix that, guys

They kind of had two conflicting theories of time travel in the movie. One is the once Bruce and Nebula explained. The other is the one The Ancient explained

yeah i didn't like bruce in ragnarok either and this was so much worse

And I've had several timeline people be upset about thor's character, but also - I kind of get it. Like, his dad just died, and the first thing that he does as the ruler is get his ass kicked by his sister and start ragnarok and destroys his home

so, you know, he's probably not feeling awesome about that on top of not actually being ready to be a king. he's been out doing adventures the whole time

then Thanos shows up before he can get his people to a new home and safety

Thanos trounces them and kills 1/2 of the people on his ship and his brother

so, not a great start as being a leader, as having all this extra responsibility besides being a hero

and then when it counts, he didn't defeat thanos before he annihilated 1/2 the galaxy, including more of his own people

and when they do find him later, Thanos has destroyed his chances of fixing his mistake

it is not surprising to me, then, that Thor could logically have a totally breakdown feeling like a failure and carrying what is no doubt enormous guilt

and of course no one can convince him otherwise

but that's just my take on it, personally

Yes, that I can see and agree with, though visually I think it did show just how much all of it had affected him. but you're right, it could have been handled with a bit more seriousness

they probably wanted there to be some humor in there because the whole movie had a lot of pretty heavy moments

but a lot of the humor they decided to go with was... not funny

I found INfinity War had the same issue with tone problems

I didn't love the whole thing with depressed!Thor being a joke but it could have been okay if it hadn't lasted for the whole damn film

if it had been, like 10 minutes of him being deeply depressed and giving of Big Lebowski vibes, it could have been interesting for his character, but it lasted literally two hours

also, not sure why they felt his depression had to be funny instead of sad??

eh. I'm guessing that some timeline divergence is just now missing all of Thanos' army. which is why I'm a little less hating it.

but yeah, the entire situation with Steve still makes no freaking sense

Steve going back and staying should've sent him into his own timeline divergence, not had him still there in the 'prime' universe, as it were

yeah that's what i figure, the prime universe still has Nebula and Gamora still died and Thanos still snapped, but some time line has none of that happen

which is how Gamora is alive again, too

i did think of one way to make Steve'

so the same thing happens, they go over to the old man sitting on the bench, and... wait a second... from the back he looks... kind of familiar?

and they approach him and it's Stan Lee

Old!Steve is played by Stan Lee

and that still wouldn't answer our questions about Peggy but it would mean Steve had been there for everything in the series
