The Fort Myers Miracle ownership have now decided to quote "rebrand" unquote the team. They are now the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels. Oh yeah, and if the new website is to be believed, the price of season tickets has almost doubled from $375 to $700.

Hey we have the Huntsville Trash Pandas and they’re getting a new stadium ...no telling what ticket prices will be for that.

Holy cow. Did the ballpark get a makeover? Did the team move up a league? Did they get a new sponsor?

Some funky stuff is going on in minor league baseball- they announced plans to shut down a whole bunch of Single A short season teams, including our local team, the Burlington Lake Monsters.

Mussels! I love it only because it’s soooooo hokey.
And I can’t wait to go to a Trash Pandas game and buy ALL the merchandise sometime when visiting Dede39

LettePonnier they have new ownership and had just recently announced a shakeup in management, including the appointment of a new president. Twitter reaction has been mixed but I would say predominately negative with "Why?" "What?" and "WTF????". At least two season ticket holders announced that they are planning to drop out.

One guy said of the new logo that "it looks like an angry clitoris". The season ticket pricing seems to be even worse than first thought. The old season tickets came with free parking worth $350/season and vouchers for free food ($70 for the $375 season ticket and $700 for the $700 level season ticket). Now, they want $250/season paid in $50/month

installments for discounted, not vouchered, food and merchandise and discounted, not free, parking. The $50/month charge also includes other formerly free benefits such as the "no ticket goes to waste" program where you can give unused tickets to friends for later games, the guaranteed giveaway program and the season ticket holder events.

The Charlotte Stone Crabs are only a 20 minute longer drive from where I live. They are charging $350/season ticket with free parking, "no ticket goes to waste", VIP events and guaranteed giveaway all included. The park is newer and the food better. If the Fort Myers pricing stands, then I'll be going to Charlotte games.

That definitely sounds like the better and more fun deal. I see they're in the same league. I know you won't have any trouble rooting against the new owners, but what about rooting against the old players?
