Remember my previous plurk about the Miracle being rebranded as the Mighty Mussels and the hike in season ticket prices from $375 to $700 accompanied by removal of free parking and other benefits (which benefits you could buy back at $50 a month/$250 for the season ... such a deal)? Well, I just got an email from my season ticket rep.
"One thing that has changed is pricing for our new plans at the ballpark. However, after working with our new management I have gotten approval to offer all of you your exact seats, prices, and benefits for the next few seasons. When you go on our team site, prices/packages will be different than what you will have available to you. "
In other news, MLB is threatening to 'streamline' their system by cutting all but about 36 minor league teams. Why, oh why, did it become all about the money?
The article says that "about a quarter" of existing minor league teams would get cut, not all but 36. Still not good, but not as horrific as that would've been. And the article Gingo links has a link in it to a NYT list of potential cuts, if you all want to find your teams.
