And if not for the other circumstances, I'd be rooting for Iason. If the story wasn't about Goldwez but a different set of characters, I'd definitely be rooting for him. In fact, I would have liked him till the very end if he didn't do that thing. In this case, I'm like Vashta
And honestly, I can't really blame him. He was used as a fleshlight since almost the very beginning, the guy who he thought would finally treat him as a peer also turned out to treat him as a fleshlight, he was scared of affection so he turned down the only man who loved him unconditionally and who really did treat him as a peer and
To quote Vashta, "I know it's not his fault," [...] "Society made him into the devil he was. He tried. I know he tried. But he was so fearful of embracing humanity, so scared to give himself over to another." This is the best summary of Iason. His story is a sad one, that's for sure
