the secret is that nobody really cares so long as your writing isn't riddled with typos and blatant grammatical errors.

people tend to care more about like. are you fun to play with + do your tags sound like the character, than like. quality of writing. in my experience anyway!!

this is good to know! The other places I've RPed online are all about ~the aesthetic~ to a curious degree

honestly, the recommended emotions are "whatever emotions your character uses the most in everyday conversation"

the balance of expressions in icons i would choose for a super grumpy/gruff character would be totally different to what i'd choose for a character who was easygoing and jokey

basically, things you'll actually use

no point in uploading a laughing icon for a character who never laughs, for example

Also sometimes you thread a bunch and then realise that you never use some icons and wish you had more other icons

And then you swap some out

Or with 100 icons i would often upload like 60-70 and then do a second batch later on when i had a better idea of what i was missing

that approach to 100 icons makes sense too, that seems like a good way to ensure you are using your resources effectively!

It only matters if you find yourself getting annoyed at not having the right expression on hand

i played him for like.... maybe three or four years...

mostly in a memory loss game where he started out thinking he was fine and then slowly learned in fact he was awful, and had a team of people who were very nice and supportive but also absolutely didn't put up with any of his bullshit which was very productive for him

ha, it still exists I guess! Discretion Advised has a lot of writeups about how things went, all his threads would still be there as well I guess but that's So Much to try and read
