This Savage Song (Monsters of Verify #1) Review: ⭐⭐⭐(3.5 stars) Finally! I finished this book yesterday night. This was my second Victoria Schwab book.
The first one I've read was "A Darker Shade Of Magic". It introduced me to the facinating world of magic and parallel universes, and the beautiful writings by the author. Although the world she created was so detailed that it was overwhelming, there were still flaws -- mostly because of the lack of personality of the characters.
This happened in "This Savage Song" as well. I don't mind the plot being simple and staight-forward, as long as it's logical and acceptable. However, it's such a disappointment that the main characters August & Kate somehow lacked of liveliness as an character. Which I have no idea why.
But still, it's definitely a good read I'd recommend. The writing was so smooth, especially during the action scenes! I'd say Victoria Schwab is a master in depicting action scenes, a magician who can turn the words into vivid images.
