[rl/health] I have good news! The Lyme won’t prevent us from proceeding with the surgery! 🎉 it can be treated alongside the surgery or even after. thank fuck.
Even better, I’ll be starting Enbrel TOMORROW to bring down the massive inflammation in my body, and it should hopefully just make me feel wayyyyyyy better overall as a result. Not lessen my back pain exactly, but my fatigue and heaviness and all over body pain/soreness should hopefully markedly improve
My rheum also officially cleared me for surgery. It was a given once we found sciatica but the confirmation is still nice to hear. I see my surgeon tomorrow!
apparently my Lyme doctor when she saw the titer was like “yeah she has an active infection but you can treat the inflammation and go ahead with the surgery and we’ll deal with the infection when and as best we can” ... bless her
I do have to be on the Enbrel for a month before we redo blood tests so it’s gonna get reallllllllly thorny on if and how long I can stay in California and if it’s better to get the surgery here or back in NJ....
Apparently the surgeon I’ve got out here is like one of THE best of the best and that’s hard to walk away from, but my family literally does not have the money to pay for this fucking apartment anymore. Money is our single biggest hurdle right now
It may be time to sit down with my mom and sketch out some costs and do a gofundme or something so we aren’t panicking about getting me out of here ASAP purely bc of money
