Nope. Use a combo you like. Maybe choc cake with cherries if you’re into Black Forest cake, or vanilla cake and strawberries

Layer it in a pretty glass bowl, let it sit overnight

Zero cooking involved except for whipping cream (have El do that if you don’t want to accidentally make butter), just assembly
