... after Steam finishes performing first-time set-up.
Oh, there's a dedicated key for submitting bug reports.
First impressions (just finished first Fighting Room, talking with Athena): looks and sounds very good, feels like it controls pretty well, but I'd REALLY like some better on-screen direction of what keys do what.
WASD going unstated is unfortunately common, but please, PLEASE, tell me that I attack by clicking! I shouldn't have needed to check the controls in the menu before starting!
Also, I had not realized that the Olympians were collectively intending to help him from the very beginning.
wheezes.... i'm glad that i'm like. Afraid of not knowing how to play, so i always check controls before the game EVER gives me the chance to do the tutorial stuff,
"My ransacking was a delight, thank you for asking."
I do the same, but I REALLY prefer in-game instruction. Both as a matter of principle, and because I think it helps me remember it better if it comes a little at a time, as it becomes relevant.
Oooh. Just talked with Nyx.
1. She is FIRMLY on Zagreus's side on this, and is responsible for getting him in contact with the Olympians in the first place.
2. The Olympians are NOT TO BE TOLD ANYTHING THEY DON'T ALREADY KNOW.
USE THE MIRROR TO GROW STRONGER.
... Someone explain to me the framed picture/shadow box of VERY SMALL cyclops and gorgon skulls.
Oh, hey, Zagreus can hear the narrator.
The narrator EXPLICITLY being Hades just... keeping a running commentary on what the heck his son is doing.
... unless I've misidentified the voice.
Yeah, that's not the same voice, I'm pretty sure. But it is VERY flattering of Hades, and jabbing at Zagreus.
LMAO yeah i don't think it's hades, it's just. Like That
One of the shades I eavesdropped on: "I'll have you know my house was MUCH better than this."
I share this mostly because their cause of death was listed as "murder", which seems... like it might make sense.
i LOVE the shade dialogue + causes of death
Previously unseen boon appears. Zagreus: "What was that sound? That was... revelry? People having a good time?"
And then I realize the icon is VERY MUCH a glass of wine.
A money bag with a mask on it... Hermes boon, perhaps?
First time in Charon's shop, and I can't afford anything in it...
YEAH.... eventually there are permanent items and stuff that you can get so that you start off with some obols
Irony is, I WOULD have been able to afford one thing (a health restoring item? looked like a wrap sandwich and some fries), had I not early spent some obols at a fountain.
Specifically for an item which increased the chances that enemies would drop health-restoring item, and exactly one did while it had effect. So I guess I broke even.
I am VERY pleased with myself for surviving a "survive for 45 seconds" room with 30 HP remaining.
Alright. Last Charon room in Tartarus. Here we go.
Done for tonight. I like that Zagreus has special comments when he defeats a type of foe that killed him last time.
"i did not defeat" is, in my and apparently many people's experiences, the Mood for a while
...i did not defeat meg, even
I did get far enough through the fight that she dropped the bloodstone I had thrown at her, and said something like "we're not finished here"!
Nyx is VERY focused on Need to Know, huh? First warning Zagreus not to tell the Olympian gods anything they don't already know, now saying that HE "knows as much as [he needs] to, and no more" about the Fated List of Minor Prophecies...
I guess night and concealment do go togetehr.
... I am very glad I got a centaur heart of the end of that room, because I was at 2 HP.
"If I ever find Daedalus, I'm going to have a word with him." Cause of death: flying experiment.
I had not realized that the Olympians sometimes commented on your cause of death. (In this case, Poseidon remarking on Zagreus's "lady trouble".)
