Fushigi yuugi was my real intro to anime and I really, really loved it in my teens/early 20s

I have all of it except for the last book because I hated the ending so much

it really suffered from "should have ended at the original end"

ah the manga, yeah. the series stopped where it really should have and just added on some OVAs

I watched it all from like a 3rd generation copy tape with wiggly subtitles, then later i bought the VHS tapes dubbed for 25 dollars a piece

because the subs were 30 dollars, and I had a dyslexic friend that I wanted to share it with

4 episodes for 25 dollars. yikes.
