We don’t have the exact date yet but things are moving, at least. Insurance, billing, a whole medical team being involved, etc. apparently the surgery will take three hours and require like three surgeons to be there!

nikoftime: no, that’s totally fine! It’s just my spine. We’re replacing my disc at L4-L5, and fusing at L5-S1. We think any radiating pain I’m experiencing is from my discs (which are a mess)

We’ve seen some mild wear in the area you’re referring to, but nothing that would require surgical intervention, and it should be helped my dealing with the issues in my spine.

nods gotcha! yeah I know you mentioned some wear on your last MRI going into your hip area but I'm glad this should help both

Essentially! Once I’m allowed to exercise after the surgery (2-3 months afterwards) they’ll want me in physical therapy and losing weight too, which I am all for. I wanna get buff.

But of course having weight off my frame will help alleviate any other issues with wear and tear.

If five years from now I don’t have a spine of adamantium and am not able to kill a grown man using only my body then what am I even doing?

my surgeons office told me I should essentially be at the front of the line, since I literally have active Lyme disease AND am on an immunosuppressive medication, but I have to go through a different doctor
