There is a lot about the romances that rub me the wrong way....
Exactly what you are saying, there's no way to say "I want to just be friends!"
I think the worst of it is with River, honestly. The fact that I was trying to play a sapphic V who was already in a relationship with Judy and there's no option to be like "Uh... I'm gay"
And you can establish that you want to be friends only after the propostion.there's no option to be like "wait, i see where this is going... and i'm just not that into you"
you have to fucking sit through the awkwardness
it's so second hand embarrassment cringe >.>
Dude right now I am ghosting Panam’s texts.
I am ghosting a Fictional Character and I feel bad but Jesus.
later, my fav romance does thist thing where if you are a lady he assumes you're into him. like even if you only ever choose the friendly options, they have an unskippable moment where in the romance you can kiss him, but as a woman they don't even give you the option to back off. he does it instead and acts like you wanted to
ghosting panam is dangerous tho if you want access to all of the endings. you do get a moment to firmly establish that you're only friends
yeah. my female V playthru i was trying to play a sapphic V and it was real difficult because both Ker and River act like you're into them
during the scene in the panzer
it is pretty late in her quest line
If that has got to be the awkward turn down, so be it.
Not looking forward to turning down River but I am all about the Judy with my female V.
yeeeah trust me when i say the inability to establish a plantonic relationship early with River is way more awkward than it is with Panam
at least Panam comes off as more flirty where you can tell River wants a relationship
and his sister gets in on it and there not being the ability to be like "I have a girlfriend her name is Judy!" during that scene was extremely frustrating
i also picked the option i thought would be less flirty and V started talking about bad boyfriends she's been with, which completely destroyed my ability to RP a purely sapphic V
so, when you play female V, choose the "pick up" line option when you are on the water tower. at least then she talks about bad pick up lines instead of boyfriends
it's like a choice between "is that a pick up line" and "what, are you lonely?"
the relationships not talking to each other is fun when i want to play a poly V or when i wanted to test the different romances in different endings
... So does Kerry turn you down as a girl and then you’re like, ‘Ah no my dude, I like ladies.’
it's so painful and stupid
because they easily could have had the option of V backing up first like they do when you romance him
and just changed his animation to not look disappointed
he says "nah, no thanks V. i'm not feeling it" and she is just like "oh. okay"
i mean, this also could have easily been changed if they let him be the chaotic bisexual he is in canon but, you know, they wanted to make sure there was an even number of romances
whhhat that would require time. and they needed to get the game out before the current gen really took off to get more money out of people buying it more than once
everything about this game should have been better and would have been if they gave themselves enough time...
but here we are, with the romances not interacting and you not being able to declare your V's sexuality, unless you want them bi and poly
like my corpo V had a grand time fucking both Ker and Panam
he doesn't see what all the fuss is about
I mean in my RP head he is still chaotic bisexual but after his divorce he decided that he was just going to date men.
but then, male V doesn't have Judy act all awkward about him coming onto her unless you speifically choose it
So, like, they said the reason he's more inclined to a maleV is because it's easier for him to transfer his feelings towards Johnny onto him
Yeah but I keep going for the protective big brother answers for Judy.
which is SHITTY and i HATE so i pretty much use the same headcanon as you, that after his marriage blew up his preferences changed.
V as Judy's supportive big bro is the best
we see Ker making out with a dude in the flashbacks, he mentions a "Miguel" who recently moved out who was probably a boytoy, and he has such deep, unresolved issues over his love for Johnny that it defines his arc in the game... I think it's possible he's just male-leaning in general.
but then his marrage blew up in his face so he was like "me and ladies are on a break for a bit -.-"
he has a pic of his ex wife in his house and none of his kids, there's issues there.
anyway, i am sorry to rant about his sexuality in your plurk about panam not knowing how to back off >.>
I will argue to the day I die that Kerry knew he was in a bad way and did not want his kids around when he finally committed suicide.
I will also argue that Kerry, while in love with Johnny, knew what a toxic fuck he was. And could not believe V was generous enough not to smother Johnny with pills - but instead let Johnny sit out his past.
Like - seriously, you can see Kerry looking at V the first time and he’s like, ‘Oh shit.’
It’s okay I got a lot of Panam feelings.
I can get them out whenever.
yes to literally all of this
he knew things were getting bad and didn't want his children around when that happened
I like her and yet I want to throw her at Saul and walk away.
