Do you just wear your skin like normal i.e no appliers?
Does the skin also apply to the mesh head? I demo'd a mesh head with tattoo skins so I wasnt' for sure how it worked. Thanks
You wear it like the old "SL skins".
On the body and on the head you usually can enable "BOM".
Basically this switches on a special texture, similar to the media texture.
Thanks
Tillie ! Does the head and body need to be enabled in the HuD for BOM?
So the skin from your body gets "projected" onto the mesh body/head.
You need to remove the alpha layers for those locations.
Or else you will only see the "BOM texture", which is something like bright red.
The nice thing of this is that you are not restricted to the 3 layers mesh body have, anymore.
You can just wear a skin, add freckles, blush, tanlines ...
the whole bunch.
so it's like the old days
It works more or less well depending on which skins and which body/head you use, as the mesh things are different from the SL body, so bits get stretched or compressed differently.
But lots of stuff works quite well.
no alphas, take them off, make sure they are enabled (usually a button or switch) in your head and body, Some skin makers are making them separate - a head skin and a separate body skin, so you have to wear both, some are making them all in one, so it depends. The separate ones will be skin layer- body skin and head skins on tattoo layer.
The body skin will say "add head skin" on your face, lol
they above are BOM, make sure BOM is enabled in your head and body
but yes, you essentially wear skins and tattoo layers just like you used to de pre-mesh head and body
Unlike before though, skins won't just work well on whatever. The best ones are made specifically for a certain head.
